DOES LED LIGHT THERAPY WORK? HEALITE II EXPLAINED
Does LED light therapy actually do anything, or is it just a warm light and a nice lie-down?
The short answer is that specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light are absorbed by structures inside skin cells involved in energy production. This process, known as photobiomodulation, has been studied for its role in supporting tissue repair and calming inflammation. It isn't a treatment that resurfaces or removes anything from the skin. It works by supporting processes the skin is already running.
Healite II at Kaia
Healite II is the LED device we use in clinic. It's available as a 15-minute express session on its own, or as a 30-minute Luxe session that includes a skin cleanse, customised LED exposure and a hand massage.
Where it fits in a treatment plan
LED is often used on its own as a calming, restorative session. It's also commonly paired directly after treatments like SkinPen or BioRePeel, where supporting the skin's response after a more active treatment is the goal. Which approach makes sense depends on what else is happening with your skin, which is why we talk it through at a full-face assessment rather than recommending it as a default add-on.
What to expect
LED sessions don't involve any downtime. Most people describe the treatment itself as warm, with any effects building over the course of repeated sessions rather than a single visit.
Price and booking
Healite II Express is $40 per session, with a six-session bundle available for $200. Healite II Luxe is $100 per session.
Not every step in a treatment plan needs to change the skin. Some steps exist to support the change already underway.
Book a Healite II session, or add it to another treatment at your next visit.
